Pula, siruated at the southest end of the Istrian peninsula has been in existence since three thousand years. It represents a very fine combination of the old and modern city where many famous writers and composers have found inspiration for their masterpieces.

Many cultural and historical monuments dominate its panorama and represent today the unique setting of various cultural and artistic events.But, most famous among them is roman amphitheater built in 1st century, the Gate of Hercules from 1st century B.C., the Arch of Sergians from 29. 27. B.C., the Temple of Augustus (2. B.C.), city palace from 13th century, convent of St. Francis (14th century) , and many impressive buildings from the times of Austro-Hungarian Empire.

In Pula you will also find archeological and historical museum, cinema, theatre, great number of small galleries hidden in the alleys of the Old Citty. If interested in ethnology and folklore you will find much amusement in local folk traditions as well as in the old costumes that are worn in special occasions. Tourist facilites are located outside the town in woods to the sea. Beaches stretchalong 190 km of beautiful and indented coast.
