Premantura
Premantura is a picturesque place with 450 residents, located in Istria`s far south, which was already settled during the Bronze age. The remains of rustic villas are evidence of the ancient Roman`s wise selection of Premantura as an ideal living space. A beautiful statue of Minerva was also found here, today stored in the Museum of Archaeology in Pula.
In Premantura there are several well- stocked stores, a bank, a medical clinic and a souvenir shop. The restaurants have made Premantura famous as a place of rich tables set with fish and other seafood specialties. Of the numerous tourist and popular celebrations, we particularly recommended two: The Crab Festival on May 1, and the most important festival, Lovrecevo, on August 10, which is the feast of St.Lawrence, the patron saint of Premantura.
